By the CSP Team:
Today we celebrate dads near and far
For the men that they were, and the men that they are
Whether they are here with us to hug today
Or if we have lost them, but made memories on the way
We want to say thank you for all that you do
We want to say thanks for most of all, just being you!
Enjoy some words of thanks from our Charlotte ‘lil Smarties below in honor of their Dads who ROCK …
Marc Hineman:
Ava & Jack say my Dad ROCKS because he’s never ever too tired to carry us!
Kirk Walsh:
Jack & William say our Dad ROCKS because he spends time leading our Cub Scout den!
Chad Ayers:
Lauren, Emily & Abigail say our Dad ROCKS because he loves us, he dances funny and he plays with us!
Tom Wilson:
Sutton says my Dad ROCKS because he takes me to Dunkin’ Donuts and pretends to be my Prince Charming!
Brad Panovich:
So I know this picture doesn’t have my husband or Kyler’s Dad in it but we think he ROCKS, as you can see on our shirts, because he takes me on walks, reads me stories, plays with me and gets up in the middle of the night (even after getting home from work at 12 am) to cuddle and take care of me so that mommy can sleep before going to work!
Tammy and Kyler Panovich…think Brad Panovich ROCKS!
The Hershey Family:
My husband is the most amazing father. Our home is quite hectic and tons of fun with an 11 year old son, twin 2 1/2 year old boys and a beautiful 1 1/2 year old princess. It can at times be a daunting task to manage our little circus but I have a true partner in every sense of the word. Our world has changed in so many ways in the last few years and he has remained stedfast through it all.
To our 11 year old he is a mentor, friend, teacher and most importantly dad. After explaining to an 8 year old boy that he will no longer be an only child, my husband has only increased the amount of time he spends with our oldest. They ski, fish, boat, share experiences and have lots of adventures that should create amazing
memories to last a lifetime.
As we added to our family with our next two boys, he stood by my side in the NICU for more than a month. Each day was more stressful than the next for a postpartum terrified mommy of tiny little angels. We battled 10 months of sleepless nights, hundreds of diapers and terrible painful reflux that lasted over six months. All the while he was there as my partner and working a full time job. Now we have graduated to pumpkin picking, swim lessons and special trips with Daddy. He hasn’t wanted to miss one minute or opportunity to experience all of their firsts.
Lastly, when we discovered the unexpected blessing of our youngest he laughed before I could even breathe. Our twins were only five months old and I was in complete shock and disbelief. We had just had a conversation and he felt that perhaps that our family was complete. So, the fact that he reacted with such joy speaks to his precious
character. He is the perfect daddy to our daughter. Always a guys-guy, I wasn’t exactly sure how he would parent a daughter. It is such a sweet relationship to watch, especially as they share many princess moments. She got her beautiful long eyelashes from him and she uses them very effectively on her daddy.
My husband not only is a great dad but he LOVES being one. When I thank him for any of the things he does to help me he tells me how much he loves spending time with them all. He takes them many days just to give me a moment to myself and has a blast doing it. I could write pages of all the special things he has done but most of all he shows his love to each of our children in such a way that they feel adored. There is nothing more I could wish for them as their mommy!!
And last but certainly not least, we send a special hug and prayer to Smarty Dad, Tim Potvin, daddy to Ellie & Grace. Tim, we have been with you along this two-year journey as you have crusaded to win the battle against cancer with your beautiful Ellie. She is in God’s hands now and we are praying so incredibly hard for that miracle you so deserve. We are lifting you up this Father’s Day and hope you have a very special day with your amazing family.
