For more than 25 years, the 600 Festival Association has been commemorating the May races at Charlotte Motor Speedway with spectacular family-oriented events that personify the tremendous growth of motor sports. Celebrating its 16th year, Food Lion Speed Street transforms the streets of uptown into a showcase of motor sports with nonstop, family-friendly entertainment on three stages, appearances by top Sprint Cup Drivers, dynamic exhibits for all ages and an amazing assembly of NASCAR show cars and simulators. With an entire block devoted to Children, many area families take part in the activities.

Girls’ Day Out at the US National Whitewater Center

Have a Girls’ Day Out with your mom, sister or best friend at the U.S. National Whitewater Center. The event attracts a variety of women across Charlotte and the surrounding areas. Come out for a day of empowerment, excitement and fun. The day will begin with an introduction from motivational speaker, Laura Neff. Then have your choice of two activities, all experience levels are welcome. Learn how to whitewater or flatwater kayak. Bring your bike and go mountain biking with Charlotte’s only women’s mountain biking club, Dirt Divas. Try out guided climbing on one of the largest outdoor climbing centers in the country or bring your own mat and do yoga with the Charlotte Yoga Club. Finish off the afternoon by treating yourself to food and drinks. All participants will receive 15% off women specific gear in the USNWC Outfitter’s Store and the chance to win prizes from Smith Optics, NC Blumenthal Performing Arts Center, and more. Summer Bootcamp Series – Asana Activewear
On 5 different Saturday mornings this summer we are hosting five different personal training gyms who will lead a group of people in a “bootcamp” style workout. These are some of Charlotte’s finest gyms and trainers who work with people who are at various skill levels, so they structure the workouts to allow the participant to scale the difficulty to their ability.
