The colorful and classic fairytale choreographed by North Carolina Dance Theatre President and Artistic Director Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux premiered in 2001 and was last performed for Charlotte audiences in 2006. Set to Sergei Prokofiev’s score, Bonnefoux’s colorful and classic Cinderella follows the classic story of a young girl who goes from being a lonely servant to a beautiful princess. Cinderella, a three act ballet, whisks audiences to the fairytale settings of a sumptuous ball at the King’s palace, a lush garden and a quaint cottage. Tickets are $20-$74.

All but Malificent, who is determined to gift the young child with a curse to punish King Stephan and his wife. With the help of three fairies, the princess is spirited away and hidden until her sixteenth birthday at which time the curse will be broken. Malificent is relentless in her search for the young girl and succeeds in her endeavor, not realizing that one of the fairies has altered the curse of death to one of sleep until her true love finds her and wakes her with a kiss. Will the prince find Aurora in time? Will evil be overcome by good? Join us as we explore this classic story for children of all ages.
