Smarty Find – Hanging Storage

Since the new year, I am have been trying to tackle some organization around my house – just a little at a time. When I put the girls in the same room together, stuff just seemed to multiply…..clothes, toys and stuffed animals. I cleaned out closets to make room for the clothes, and made it clear that the toys were to stay in the playroom. But the stuff animals just seemed to keep coming out of the woodwork.

I tried to give a bunch of them away to Goodwill before the holidays, but Zoe wouldn’t part with any of them (my obvious mistake was asking her opinion, of course). Anyway, I was able to get a couple of them out the door, but not enough to satisfy my need for order. And then I stumbled across this cheap little find at Ikea. This adorable mesh hanging storage unit is only $4.99 and it holds a ton of stuffed animals, toys, or anything else that is small and light. You just hang a hook from the ceiling (or in my case, get your husband to do it) and hang the mesh basket. They come in a bunch of colors, green, white, red, blue, and orange…there may have been more as well. It is located in the children’s section of the store. I checked the website, but they don’t feature it online so I have not included the link.

The girls think it is the coolest thing and they have a blast shoving all of their animals in it. So clean up has been a little bit more fun lately. We’ll see how long that lasts.
