OK – Raise your hand if you think the weather is one of the best things about living in Charlotte. Of course, maybe not so much this week … but give me one of those Carolina Blue Sky Days any time and man! I love Charlotte! I remember one February shortly after I moved here where it was so mild, my fresh-from-Ohio-booty was parked out by the pool, calling all my family still up north claiming bragging rights for who had the best weather. BUT … I must admit, being an Ohio girl, eventually I did start to miss the snow. My gloating was replaced with stories from my sister of my nieces going on all day sledding excursions and memories of childhood snowmen and building some killer sledding ramps.
So imagine my delight when I found out about Snowpark Southpark! Seriously Smarties! Check this out — Grab your warmest winter coat, gather the kids and make your way to SnowPark USA! SnowPark USA offers many of the same winter activities of the mountains, including snowboarding, sledding, snow play and more … all of this … right in our own back yard!
Host to Charlotte Symphony in summer and now SnowPark USA in winter, Symphony Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, covering the slope with a 9″ blanket of powdery, man-made snow for all the zip zap zoom you can imagine. How cool is that? And in addition to the ramp and hill for the snow tubing and boarding attractions, SnowPark Charlotte will also include a Snow Play area, located in the covered Amphitheatre.
The park opens two short weeks from today on November 27 but you can get your tickets now and save $5. Check out their website for more info and to order tickets.
By the way – worried about missing out on the beautiful Christmas tree that that traditionally decorates Symphony Park? Don’t! It will still be there and rumor has it … even Saint Nick himself will make an appearance on occasion!!

How cool! Being from PA that is one of the things I miss as well. I guess I will have to go find a sled then, huh? Or just use my old boogie board like we did last year when we had that day of snow:)
This is way cool! Thanks for the tip!
love this! Thanks for the info!
That is awesome! Can't wait to try it out. Thanks for sharing!
This is going to be so much fun. My kids will be so excited! Thanks!
You can get discounted tickets (even more than the normal online discount) if you enter coupon code "snow" during checkout…it brings the price down to $25 per ticket!!!
This place is the biggest rip-off in years. You MUST check it out before paying money. My backyard has a hill bigger than this. You will be disappointed if you pay $30 and then see what you get. When we were there, there were no lanes for each section the ice had melted riders were only making it 1/2 way down because there was no slope. Kids were getting run over by other sleds.Dont waste time or money.
