This last week I had to get a shower present for one my friends who is having another child. I headed over to Nesting and was introduced to the cutest series of children books. They are titled Little Pea, Little Hoot and Little Oink. What is so cute about the books is how each one uses reverse psychology to teach kids about eating their vegetables, going to bed ontime and cleaning up.
The first in the series of books written by Amy Krouse Rosenthal is Little Pea. Little Pea has to eat all of his sweets or there will be no vegetables for dessert. And then came Little Hoot who has to stay up late like a good little owl not like his friends who go to bed at a reasonable hour, and finally Little Oink is a neat little pig. He wants to clean, but his Mama and Papa say in order to be a proper pig, he has to learn to make a proper mess. I thought they were all cute stories with adorable illustrations and the gift was a hit. The saleswoman suggested that I get a little owl or pig lovey to go with one of the books which was perfect – something for the baby and big sis.
