In the United States a woman is beaten every 9 seconds. Last year in North Carolina, 84 lives were lost to domestic violence. CSP is proud and honored to partner with the Avon Foundation and the PGA TOUR Wives Association to help make a difference in the lives of thousands of people in North Carolina who are affected by this tragic and senseless act. We are setting a very aggressive and lofty goal to be the largest team in the inaugural Avon Foundation Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence event, held at the Quail Hollow Championship on Tuesday, April 28th and we cannot do it without your help.
Walk the Course Against Domestic Violence is a non-competitive, family-friendly event that will raise critical funds and awareness to help end the cycle of domestic violence in North Carolina. Join the CSP team to walk 9 holes (2.5 miles) or 18 holes (5 miles). Either way, you’ll be sure to enjoy one of North Carolina’s finest golf courses at Quail Hollow Club. Funds raised will be distributed by the Avon Foundation to outstanding organizations in the Charlotte area, including the United Family Services Shelter for Battered Women and The Shelter of Gaston County.
Click here to register for the CSP team and to learn more about the event. The password is “livingsmarty” because, well, that’s what we all do every single day here at Charlotte Smarty Pants! Cost is $20 for the 9-hole walk and $25 for the 18-hole walk (although the sky is the limit as to how much $ you can raise!). You can’t beat that for a family evening of fun and some serious celebrity spotting! Children and collapsible/umbrella strollers are welcome – the CSP team will be pushing our huge fams for this Smarty cause and we hope to see you there! You won’t be able to miss us since we’ll be sporting our Smarty pink polos, hot off the press just for this event! Come find us and wear your Smarty pink and green so we can blanket Quail Hollow with our Smarty pride!
This event is rain or shine. Check-in begins at 3pm at Forest Hill Church (7224 Park Road). Note: you MUST check in at Forest Hill Church and take the shuttles. Walkers and spectators are not permitted to drive directly to the Quail Hollow Club and no drop-offs. The 18-hole walk starts at 5:15p. The 9-hole walk starts at 6:15p. Walkers must check in no later than 30 minutes prior to their start time. Shuttles will be provided from Forest Hill Church. Top individual fundraisers will have the opportunity to win fabulous prizes and meet professional golfers participating in the Quail Hollow Championship!
We’re so proud to be a part of this inaugural event and hope to see all of you at the course. Let’s get Smarty!

I would love to be part of the CSP team and certainly expect CSP to meet their goal of being the largest team. Sounds like a lot of fun for a much needed cause that does not get nearly enough attention. Let’s go ladies!
Hey guys-Just wanted to clarify one thing. Children 12 and under are free if accompanied by an adult. Remember to bring collapsible strollers that will fit/break down for the shuttles.
I’ve worked in the local DV community for about 15 years now. There are so many women and children affected by this issue here – our family, neighbors, friends – more than you’ll ever know. This is a great way to support local agencies assisting victims of violence in getting to a safer place. An easy way to contribute and an easy way to get children involved in giving back.Morgan
