In the market for some new shoes? (of course!) Or need to stock up on some pet supplies? Traveling in the near future and need a rental car? What about ordering some golf balls for your husband for Father’s Day?
Did you know that you can take advantage of over 100 discount offers with popular merchants just by using your Visa card? One of the benefits to having a Visa that many people don’t even know about is that Visa partners with several merchants to help you save money. The only trick is that you have to go through Visa’s site to access the promo codes and most discounts are only eligible for online purchases. Here is a sampling of some of the current offers going on right now. For a full list, check out their website.
Nine West (save $10 on purchase of $65 or more)
Shoes.com (save 20% on all purchases)
Target.com (save $5 on orders of $50 or more)
PetSmart (save $10 on $60 or more)

You can also get some great travel discounts, like a $150 onboard credit on your next Norwegian Cruise when you pay with your visa card!
And to make things easy on you (because if you’re like me, this all sounds great, but who really has the time to remember to go out and check on what discounts are available) – you can sign up for a free Visa Discount Newsletter that is sent right to your in-box!
PLUS if you have a Visa Signature Card, you get additional benefits and exclusive offers such as discounts on golf packages at Pinehurst (think Father’s Day again) or free wine tastings in Sonoma if you happen to be planning a trip out that way.
MasterCard also has a very similar program, offering discounts on merchants, travel and entertainment. Let us know if you have any other money saving shopping tips to share! Happy Shopping!

Have you ever used UPromise? I have twins and opened an account with UPromise.com to start accumulating funds to help with college expenses. You do have to shop through their website as well to get the discounts, but a percentage of each purchase accumulates in your account to be used for college expenses. There are several ways to earn money…everyone should check it out since it is FREE. As a financial planner, I recommend this to even my wealthiest clients.
My fave is luckymagrewards.com, you have to subscribe to lucky magazine, but it’s about $10 a year. Then you accrue money back on any purchase you make with through their site with the sponsors (it comes quarterly on a mastercard). Great sponsors like nordstrom’s, babies’r’us, all the gap stores, etc. I bought all my christmas stuff online last year & they had double money back on Thanksgiving weekend. I buy all gifts this way & a lot of our stuff & consistently get a mastercard with $50-$150 a quarter!
