Jen P. and I had the opportunity to meet the owners of the Myers Park store at Providence Plaza (intersection of Providence and Sharon Amity), Cindy and Chip Wilson. We toured the store and best of all, we were able to try out several fabulous meals. The Mr. Food concept is to bring families back to the dinner table. They provide a place where you can, within 30-45 minutes, prepare a weeks’ worth of meals. The ingredients are fresh, from the herbs to the vegetables and meats. Not frozen!! I don’t know about you, but I have tried several meal-prep locations where the meat is frozen and I have wondered how old is it and can it really absorb the flavors!
Mr. Food no-fuss Meals offers a family-friendly environment. They provide a KidZone for the days when you have the kids with you. They also host Kids Can Cook sessions where you can bring in your 7+ year old and have them help you assemble your family’s meals. Very Smarty! The Wilson’s are inviting kids in anytime all day Wednesday, June 4, Thursday, June 12, Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 28. This will be a great summer activity.
Mr. Food no-fuss Meals has also introduced the Our Table program. This is a program of giving back to the community. For every 10 meals prepared at the Wilson’s Mr. Food no-fuss Meals locations (they will soon be opening two additional area locations – in Ballantyne and Matthews), their team will create an 11th meal and work with various organizations to ensure these meals are reaching those who need them most. While you are preparing meals for your family you are also helping to give back to the community.
At Mr. Food no-fuss Meals, you can also host private parties and fundraisers. You can get a girls’ group together to prepare meals for a friend having a baby or for a family experiencing a hard time. You can get your friends together and share a bottle of wine while prepping all of your meals. How fun is that? All of this is done in a very open, comfortable environment.

So how is this meal service different that you can fix all your meals in 30 min. That’s where I lost my patience at all the others…I would be in there for 2 hours fixing all those meals!
I think Mr. Food is quicker because you are using fresher ingredients and the recipes are not super long. Seven complete meals in 30 min. would be hard but for us 3 meals is a weeks worth because of portion size. Going by yourself also speeds up the process but I like going with girlfriends and using the time as a break and gaining some social time. Another difference is that it is fresh ingredients and that I can come straight home and prepare one of the meals that same evening.
I didnt see anything about the kid-free zone at this location on the website. Just wanted to confirm that before I signed up. Is there an age limit???? I have a one year old…
There is a Kid Zone. There is not an age limit but it is not a supervised area. There are games, tv with kid shows, blocks, coloring books, table, chairs etc.
I thought Providence Place was in Cotswold. Is this the location?
I went here for the first time about 3 weeks ago and assembled 8 meals. I was there about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish and I “split” some of the meals so that takes a little longer. We have tried aobut 5 of the April meals I assembled and they they have all tasted GREAT. I tried Supper Thyme previously and I did not like them that much. They advertise that their portions are a bit bigger then most but I find them about the same. To me if it says 5-6 servings it is enough for about 3-4 adults. The location is near Cotswold for the person who commented. I will definitely be trying them again. The kid zone is small area but enough to keep some kids entertained for a while.
