It is part of our mission at CSP to feature a non-profit organization with a big heart every month. Jen B. and I planned to kick this community effort off with the Kindermourn 4th Annual Hope Floats Duck Race coming up in April. Only fitting after the events over the past few weeks. I believe this too was part of Jen’s “Big Plan” and that she is sitting right here guiding the way.
The Hope Floats Duck Race provides financial support for KinderMourn’s services of providing grief counseling to parents who have lost a child or children who have lost a parent or loved one. This race ensures that no grieving family has to suffer the devastating loss of a loved one alone.
We at CSP are partnering with Charlotte Swim Academy to host a Team Jen Bunich and we hope that you will support our efforts. On April 20, 2008, over 12,000 sunglass-wearing rubber ducks will be dropped into the churning rapids at the U.S. National Whitewater Center to race for fabulous prizes. The general community adopts these adorable ducks for $5 each, buying a chance to win one of many great prizes and most importantly, offering financial support for a worthy cause. The day is filled with music, children’s activities, and enjoyment of a beautiful spring day! I have attended this event for the past three years and my children have had a blast. They loved the duck race, the moon bounces, the face-painting – the list goes on! I literally have had to drag them away every year!
Please join us in supporting KinderMourn by adopting a flock of ducks under Team Jen Bunich. Here is the important information you need to know:

How do you buy individual ducks? I only see options to buy the package of 6 or 12 ducks?
I’m so happy to see this blog about Kindermourn. We lost our first son and went through a support group at KinderMourn. It was so helpful and really helped us a lot.
If you can’t order the individual ducks online, then just call Duck Central at 704-376-2580. I’m assuming they are available M-F. They should answer any questions you have. Thanks for your support! -Jen P.
