By Leslie Niessner, Charlotte Christian Director of Fine Arts
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Charlotte Christian School’s upcoming production of James and the Giant Peach, Jr. is an adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery. When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
Charlotte Christian School’s production of James and the Giant Peach, Jr. opens on Thursday, Nov. 10 and runs through Saturday, Nov. 12 in the Alkire Auditorium on the school’s campus. The middle school musical runs approximately 60 minutes without an intermission and is appropriate for all ages. Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students and children. Visit the Charlotte Christian box office online to purchase your tickets today.
For families looking to elevate their theatre going experience, be sure to check out the special event taking place just prior to the Saturday, Nov. 12 matinee performance.
