Merry Merry: 8 – the salon
8 is the creation of a unique and unparalleled vision of a salon, delicately balanced between fashion and style, especially blended for the savvy individual at heart. 8 is a collaboration between Rodger Azadganian and wife Amy Troutman, a native of Charlotte. The two have set out to create a salon experience for customers, unlike any other offered to Charlotte thus far. With a warm, inviting interior and edgy euro metropolitan décor, that is set to music that will invigorate the soul. Their philosophy to doing hair is as unique as their concept for a salon. Their approach is to help define your style as an individual and to enhance your features by cutting and coloring your hair to suit your face shape, skin tone, and above all, accentuating your eyes – all the while keeping in mind that fashion is fad and style…eternal.
Rodger Azadganian has thirty years of experience in the hair industry as a stylist, platform artist and salon owner. In 2008 he sold his salons on the west coast with 200+ employees and moved back home to the east coast to start a family, close to his family. He trained and got his start with former Vidal Sassoon artistic team director, Scott Cole. Rodger has been Featured in ALLURE, INSTYLE, LUCKY, ELLE and W among others. Rodger has risen to be a leader in the industry and has worked with Nordstrom on nearly all their major fashion events for the past twelve years. He has worked hand in hand on fashion shows and fashion week with designers Dolce Gabbana, Michael Kors, Donna Karan, Catherine Malandrino, Richard Tyler, Escada, YSL, Chanel, Badgley Mischka, just to name a few. He has styled hair for and his lists of clients have included Linda Evangelista, Ester, Melinda Gates, Kate Spade, Catherine Malandrino and Tom Skerritt among others. Rodger is known for his revolutionary cutting style, aiming to individualize hairstyles after studying the bone structure, skin tone and eye color of each client. He is recognized for rejecting industry trends in hair design that are not suited for his clients’ unique facial features.
Amy Troutman has been a color director and involved with color education for over twelve years. She has put together one of the industries top rated and best color curriculums for stylists. She has trained hundreds of stylist through her program. Amy got her start with Framesi, training in Los Angeles and became a part of their elite educational team. Amy has traveled extensively to salons across the country and instructed their staff in her alchemical approach to coloring hair. She has set the standard in the way color education is taught at many well known and respected salons. She has often been compared to Annie Humphries, Color Director for Vidal Sassoon.
AZ Haircare, created by 8, is made with the finest quality ingredients that are balanced to give you the highest follow through performance possible, empowering you to create any style and to look your very best.
