Leigh Goodwyn knows how to celebrate and support women! With her creative eye and savvy business background, she saw a need and created the amazing home & dorm décor business, LeighDeux . At the same time, Leigh wanted her brand to be recognized as a company that is making a difference. She made it part of her company’s mission to encourage young women to start their own businesses and promote female entrepreneurship.
“Our goals are very simple, our décor is pretty with a purpose. We want to help reinvigorate the textile industry in the Carolinas, create jobs and give back.” ~ Leigh Goodwyn
With this in mind, Leigh decided to allocate a portion of LeighDeux’s proceeds to fund scholarships. Hence, the LeighDeux scholarship was born. This scholarship is awarded to female students enrolled at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill ( Leigh’s alma mater) in the Shuford Program for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. The scholarship provides support for research, travel, internship opportunities or initial start-up funding.
