Our Smarty friends at Discovery Place KIDS are hosting a MUST-ATTEND event this Friday for rising kindergartners and their families to celebrate the very first “Big Day”! This FREE community-wide program focuses on kindergarten readiness and celebrates a child’s entrance into formal education.
Enjoy FREE Museum admission as community partners offer skill-building activities and information that children and parents will need in preparation for their first day of school:
–Meet with local kindergarten teachers.
–Visit a mock classroom.
–Discover healthy, yummy lunches and snacks.
–Learn how to go through a lunch line and practice carrying a tray.
–Practice scissor safety.
–Explore, test and try new skills throughout the Museum.
In addition, community partners will be onsite and available to discuss tutoring and after school programs that offer additional enrichment for your soon-to-be kindergartner.
Children who are ready to explore, test and try new skills have a greater opportunity for success in kindergarten. Discovery Place KIDS-Huntersville is bringing the community together to play an active role in the skill building process.
