Just in from the CPSC and it’s good news for the consignment business and thrift stores and our own Smart e-Place! I’m sure you’ve all been following the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) and our recent blog on this topic.
Bottom line from today’s press release: The new law requires that domestic manufacturers and importers certify that children’s products made after February 10 meet all the new safety standards and the lead ban. Sellers of used children’s products, such as thrift stores and consignment stores, are not required to certify that those products meet the new lead limits, phthalates standard or new toy standards.
Game on consignors, consignment sales, eBay, Smart e-Place, Divine Consign and anyone else selling children’s clothes! This Smarty site is ready to roll! Don’t mess with our consignment sales:-) Now just be smart about your used toys – if in doubt, don’t buy it!

Divine Consign needs a new location… Does anyone have any ideas? Spencer is trying to contact some people, but so far is coming up empty.
how about in the Lake Norman area? I went to a great consignment sale at the RaceWorld USA – exit 28 off of I77. http://www.michaelwaltrip.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=16600&ATCLID=925786
