Well, obviously the best way is soap and water but if that is not closeby, then you need another option. I have been using Clean Well products and they are great. They are an all-natural alternative to other hand sanitizers on the market. They smell great and actually soften my hands rather than cause more cracking during these winter months. Purell kills my hands! I must admit that I can be overzealous in the hand washing area due to several months in the NICU with my twins. With that said, I think this is a really cool product. You should check out the story behind it. It is a unique formula of natural essential plant oils that is effective in killing 99.9% germs (even Salmonella and MRSA) and contains no toxic or harmful chemicals. The parents of a boy with an immune disorder pioneered this product. They were seeking a product with no harsh or toxic chemicals. I was going to buy some online several months ago and then found out that Target carries it! Yippee! Hopefully this is an end to my hands looking like those of someone triple my age. Although I don’t think Purell contains Triclosan, it contains alcohol which may not bother some of you. Clean Well is a better product for me because my hands are sooooo dry and the alcohol just makes it worse. Of course try to wash with soap and water but if not available, try this!
Oh, and for those antibacterial hand soaps. I would just stick with good ‘ole soap and water. Research has shown that Triclosan (common in antibacterial products) may cause liver damage and more when absorbed through the skin. Also, there has been some word that these soaps are contributing to antibiotic resistant bacteria (ie., MRSA, etc.). Even some “all-natural soaps” have been shown to contain Triclosan so just remember to try and read the labels. As if we have all the time in the world to read labels….. but give it a try! Here are some links that I find interesting:

I love these posts. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. It is important for all of us to think a little differently these days.
I have been using an organic hand sanitizer that I love. It’s Clearing Spray by Benedetta. The product uses no isopropyl alcohol or myristate, plus no mess. You can check it out at http://www.benedetta. I love your website!
