Do you have a budding engineer, architect, mathematician, or just a LEGO® fanatic living under your roof? If so, THIS is your lucky day! We’ve teamed up with Bricks 4 Kidz Charlotte to offer one lucky Smarty kid a free week of Bricks 4 Kidz camp!
This is not simply LEGO free play. Bricks 4 Kidz is a program that allows kids to build unique MOTORIZED creations and have loads of fun playing with LEGO® bricks, while learning basic principles of engineering, math, technology and architecture. There are many educational, developmental and social benefits in their approach to learning. These lessons are hidden in fun activities with options for every age level.
A perfect example is their airplane program. Kids first discuss the background of Orville and Wilbur Wright and learn that these brothers were the first to successfully complete a powered flight. They then build a model of an airplane using LEGOs – all along the way getting educational reinforcements about aviation. Hey, we know some adults who’d LOVE this! But, this is solely for kids ages 5-12; Bricks 4 Kidz adjusts the program based on age.
And if you’ve got a girl engineer in the works (yay for girl engineers and mathematicians!) or maybe an extreme athlete, Bricks 4 Kidz also has programs to help kids learn more about physical fitness, coordination, balance, and endurance all through LEGOs.
A Bricks 4 Kidz camp will introduce your child to engineering, architecture and scientific principles while important skills such as sequencing, following step-by-step directions and spacial/relational thinking are developed. Fine motor skills blossom as he or she picks up and assembles the many small bricks and gears. Also, think about the communication and teamwork needed to build a motorized LEGO creation – Bricks 4 Kidz recently launched Bricks 4 Biz, corporate team building seminars so adults can get in on the fun too!
