Get your calendars out, Smarties, this event is one you won’t want to miss! When Charlotte Symphony’s Lollipop Family Concert Season starts, I realize that I am the luckiest duck in the world living in this great city of Charlotte. Lollipops family concerts bring children and adults together to experience the thrill of a live orchestra. Enchanting storytellers, comic clowns, and graceful dancers join the Charlotte Symphony musicians to create a magical musical world for young listeners. This wondrous series is the T-I-C-K-E-T for family fun and you can feel good about every second of every event as your children are being exposed to the beautiful arts that our city provides.
Charlotte Symphony’s Story of Babar will be at Belk Theater on Saturday, September 24th. I encourage you to get your tickets now. It will be an event to remember! Pack your trunks! You’re invited to Babar’s coronation! Join the Charlotte Symphony, Babar, Arthur, Celeste, the Old Lady, and all their jungle friends as Babar makes his rise from rags to riches in Jean de Brunhoff’s popular children’s story, eloquently set to music by Francis Poulenc. Long live King Babar! Also featuring the delightful “Toy Symphony.”

Does anyone know for what ages this series is best suited? I have a 22 month old who LOVES music but I’m not sure if he is too young for this or not. I’d love any thoughts from those who have been before.
I think you’re on the cusp of being the perfect age. I say give it a whirl, if your little one can sit still somewhat. It’s not like you’re going to get kicked out, it’s for kids! The pre-festival will be perfect for sure.
