As a busy mom, you may have heard of ChatGPT but might not know exactly what it is. In simple terms, ChatGPT is a virtual assistant designed to answer questions and provide information on a wide range of topics. It is based on the GPT-3.5 architecture, which is a state-of-the-art language model developed by OpenAI.
So how can ChatGPT be useful to you as a mom? Well, for starters, it can save you time and effort by providing quick and accurate answers to your queries. Whether you’re looking for advice on how to get your toddler to sleep through the night, or you need help with meal planning for your family, ChatGPT can provide you with helpful tips and insights.
One of the great things about ChatGPT is that it is available 24/7, so you can ask questions and get answers whenever you need them. This is especially helpful for busy moms who may not have the time to search for information themselves or wait for responses from friends or family members.
Another benefit of ChatGPT is that it can provide personalized recommendations based on your specific needs and preferences. For example, if you’re looking for a new recipe to try, you can provide ChatGPT with details on your dietary restrictions or ingredient preferences, and it can suggest recipes that meet your criteria.
It’s worth noting that while ChatGPT is incredibly helpful, it is not a substitute for professional advice or medical guidance. If you have serious concerns about your child’s health or well-being, it’s always best to consult with a healthcare provider.
Overall, ChatGPT is a valuable tool for moms who are looking for quick and reliable information on a wide range of topics. Whether you’re a new mom navigating the challenges of parenthood or a seasoned parent looking for fresh ideas, ChatGPT can be a helpful resource to have at your fingertips.
Oh, and if you’re having a hard time recognizing my “voice” in this, it’s because ChatGPT composed it. Seriously. I asked for a “short blog by a mom to other moms about what ChatGPT is” and this is what it came up with! It’s pretty cool!
I also tried out a few other queries. My favorite was “the best waterfall hike for kids within an hour of Charlotte” — Catawba Falls Trail and Lower Creek Falls — if you’re interested. We’ll be giving both of them a try as soon as school breaks! WAHOOO!!!
And while I love a good #lifehack I didn’t install the app on my phone because I’m still a millennial who remembers wondering if the banks would crash at midnight while wearing my Y2K paper party glasses. So I just went to openai.com, clicked on “try ChatGPT” and got to typing at the bottom of the page where the blinking cursor prompts you to “send a message!”
I think me and ChatGPT are going to get to be very good friends this summer as my crew gives RVing, treasure hunting with geocaches, and horseback riding a try! My uses are obviously super topical, but the technology can be used in endless ways! My brother-in-law who’s in finance at a Fortune 100 company uses it to create complex excel spreadsheets. A friend used it to help plan her trip to Switzerland, complete with age-appropriate attractions for her kids, lodging, and packing tips for the time of year.
If you want to know how it differs from Google, the best way I can describe it is that it will actually do the thing for you rather than cull the data for you to look through. For example, I told it what I had in my fridge and pantry the day before my scheduled grocery pickup when pickings were slim, and it gave me a recipe to make from the items I had on hand. MAJOR WIN! So be a cool mom, not a regular mom, and check out AI and let me know your favorite way to use it for good!
