Summer starting and looking for something new and fun to do with your kids? Mark your calendars for the Fire Truck Festival which is coming to the N.C. Transportation Museum in Spencer, N.C.
When: Saturday, June 24 from 9 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
What: You’ll get to meet firefighters from across the state, get a close-up look at the equipment they use, vote for your favorite fire truck, and have a fun family day at the museum. During your visit, enjoy activities and train rides throughout the day. At the end of the festival, watch the parade which begins at 3:15 p.m.
Activities to Include: Obstacle Course, Inflatable Games, Jaws of Life Demonstrations, Discovery Map for Kids, Sparky the Fire Dog Interactive, N-Scale Model Train Layout, Costume Contest, People’s Choice Awards, N. C. Forestry Service, Norfolk Southern Lawmen Band, Norfolk Southern “Operation Awareness and Response” first responder’s safety train and locomotive
Don’t miss: Fire Truck Parade at 3:15 p.m. and Charlotte F.D. “Old Sue” 1902 Steam Pumper Demonstrations at 10:45 a.m. and 1:45 p.m.
