The Cornwell Center at Myers Park Baptist Church is home to new 3-on-3 children’s sports leagues called “Let ‘Em Play.” The concept for the leagues is that children ages 6-9 can play sports in smaller groups on smaller fields and courts so they get more time on the ball to develop their games.
Registration is now open for two Let ‘Em Play leagues this spring – one in full court basketball (girls and boys) and one co-ed indoor soccer called Futsal Indoor Soccer for ages 6-9. In futsal soccer, players can play the ball off the wall. (Registration for a spring half-court basketball league is already full.)
The spring season lasts five Sundays beginning this Sunday (April 23) through May 21, between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. The Cornwell Center is located at 2001 Selwyn Ave. The cost is $140, thought scholarship help is available.
Our mission is to give back to our community and families by offering full and partial scholarships to those in need. Our goal is to give a portion of our proceeds to our various league scholarships. We believe every child should be given the chance to play sports and get their hands on a ball.
