Cross Conditioning Training
Why do we love Cross Conditioning Training? Because it provides small-class workouts that make you feel like you’re working with a personal trainer, yet still gives you the camaraderie of working out with friends. CCT offers the perfect mix of cardio and strength training to either complement your usual workout routine or to serve as your primary workout. Owner Jen Dufresne is a former pole vaulter at Virginia Tech, mom of three and all around super woman. She and her team of trainers are so upbeat and inspiring. We often get asked if we will see a huge influx of people at the New Year. The answer is complicated. Sure, we do see some new faces as a result of the New Year, but in reality our business thrives off retaining the new faces. With approximately 60% of our members over the age of 35 and 22% over the age of 45, we have grown a community that understands the importance of movement as they age. Long gone are the days of quick fixes and going so hard that you can’t walk for days. In this space, consistency over 2-4 days a week, all year long has been proven to provide long lasting result in our space – results that aren’t bred off a certain time of the year.
I’ll never forget a client telling me in April 2021 when she started at CCT that she should be working out until the end of May 2021 (when she was going on a trip). I should expect not to see her after that. Low and behold it is January 2023 and she is still working out in the studio – and since her husband has joined. We are unique in the sense that we work with you where you are at and recognized that where you are at changes.
I encourage you as you navigate what the New Year brings to your movement to work on a long lasting plan. Small changes in habits breed big changes in life – without you feeling like you have to work too hard. Instead of trying to go to the gym every day, consider going 2x per week to start. Do things you love. Do things that challenge you. Look for accountability.
