If you’ve never made your own hummus, now is the time. If you haven’t made it in a while, bust out your food processor and get on it. Homemade hummus is a million times better than anything you can buy at the store – and it’s so easy to make.
You might even have all the ingredients you need in your pantry. If you don’t have tahini – sesame paste – you can skip it. Really. Hummus without tahini is still delicious. My kids devour it with crackers, veggies, tortilla chips … lots of snack potential!
So here’s how I make hummus super quickly…
Blend the first group of ingredients for a minute and then add a can of drained chickpeas and blend for 2-3 more minutes. That’s it. Add more salt and lemon at the end as needed.
First Ingredients:
1/3 c tahini
3 tablespoons cold water
2 tablespoons olive oil
1/2 to a whole lemon, squeezed
1/2 teaspoon or so, salt
1/2 teaspoon or so, cumin
1 or 2 cloves garlic
Directions
Blend in your food processor for 1 minute.
Add 1 can of chickpeas. Blend for 2-3 more minutes. Taste test.
Adjust seasonings.
I serve my hummus with a drizzle of olive oil and a dash of paprika. That’s it! Enjoy!
Keegan gave it two thumbs up!
