Charlotte Black Dogs and Pineville Parks & Rec. presents the 8th annual “Paws in the Park,” a free family event! It will be held Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. rain or shine at Pineville Lake Park at 1000 Johnston Drive in Pineville.
“Paws in the Park” is one of the largest dog events in the Charlotte area. It includes rescue groups and shelters with dogs available for adoption, blessing of the animals, arts and crafts, as well as business vendors, demonstrations, food trucks, a kids playground. There will be dog contests at noon, Food Trucks, Kids Playground, Dog Contests at noon, a dog show from Circus Stella and music from award-winning headliner Chairmen of the Board.
Bring your pup out, ALL friendly dogs are welcome and plan to spend the day with us!
Schedule
11:30 a.m.: Blessing of the animals at the Shay Stage.
Noon: Dog contests on Shay Stage, which features trophies and cash prizes. The audience is judging. Beachwear is encouraged. Categories include:
– Smallest Dog (1 year old & up)
– Largest Dog (around the waist)
– Best Dressed Female
– Best Dressed Male
– Best Dog Trick
– Best Themed Group of Dogs (minimum of 2 dogs, with maximum 5 dogs in each group.)
Parking and safety
Parking in the Park is reserved for vendors only. Please park along Lake View Drive, at Gracelife Church, at the Hut/Pineville Elementary School, or in downtown Pineville.
Please for everyone’s safety, no retractable leashes. (Keep short at ALL times, or you will be asked to leave.)
