Charlotte artist, interior designer, teacher and co-owner of Pink Bee Co. Audrey Hood is hosting a “Christmas in July” pop up shop this Friday at Ballantyne Country Club as part of her “Dancing with the Stars of Charlotte” campaign to raise money for Carolina Breast Friends and the Pink House. In addition to showing off her dance moves at the Dancing With the Stars performance Nov. 6 at Knight Theatre, she’s working to reach the $30,000 fundraising goal set for each dancer.
Hood is bringing together 38 local small businesses to raise money for Carolina Breast Friends, a local organization that supports breast cancer patients and survivors. “While they’ve been busier than ever and have expanded their reach via online programs, COVID has really hit them hard as far as donations coming in the door,” Hood says.
Tickets to the Pop Up Shop are a $5 donation if purchased ahead of time or a $10 donation at the door. Check out this list of participating businesses and be ready for some “really fabulous raffle items,” Hood says. For more information, check out her fundraising page here.
