Hitting those mid-to-late summer, what-do-we-do-next doldrums? The Charlotte Knights have got you covered, Smarties. Major League Baseball just announced that each Triple-A affiliate could add 10 games to the ends of their 2021 season schedules, which helped offset some of the losses incurred during the cancellation of last season due to COVID. That means the Charlotte Knights have added five home games to their schedule (and five on the road) which will help local families looking for a little something extra to do!
Beginning Tuesday, September 21, the Knights will host the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles, at Truist Field in five single games over a six-day period. Tickets are available for those and all remaining Knights’ games at charlotteknights.com, by calling (704) 274-8282, or in person at Truist Field ticket office.

“We’re extremely pleased to have the opportunity to host additional games at Truist Field,” said Knights’ Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer Dan Rajkowski. “Following a year without baseball, to be able to have 65 home games with most of them at full capacity is wonderful for our fans and everyone associated with the Knights. Making the home games even more meaningful as part of the Triple-A Final Stretch postseason tournament will add to the excitement.”
Major League Baseball will declare a winner of the “Triple-A Final Stretch” based on the results of those final 10 games for each team, and, if necessary, tiebreaker criteria. The winning Triple-A Final Stretch club will receive a prize from MLB.
The Knights have announced additional promotional events to their calendar too, including postgame fireworks this Saturday night, following the 7:04 p.m. game against Jacksonville. With five more games on the schedule, the Knights have added promotions like another “Bark in the Park” bring-your-dog night and “Wine Wednesday” presented by Cupcake Vineyards – both on Sept. 22.
