Team Smarty recently had the privilege of a girls weekend at one of our favorite winter spots, Chetola Resort.
Tucked in the heart of Blowing Rock, Chetola Resort sits on 78 glorious acres and features Chetola Lodge, the Bob Timberlake Inn at Chetola Resort and Chetola condominiums ranging from one to four bedrooms. Chetola is the first Orvis-endorsed Fly Fishing Lodge in North Carolina. The resort is complete with two restaurants, a full-service spa, fitness center, indoor pool, kids activities, yoga, and so much more.
Our first stop was the spa, after all it was a girls weekend and what would a girls weekend be without a spa treatment! We had massages and tea, it was perfect to release some of the stress 2020 has brought on:
Next we headed to our condo, which was perfectly outfitted with anything and everything we’d need for the weekend, including a spectacular view.
For dinner, we dined at Timberlake’s Restaurant & Pub, it was absolutely delicious! Craft cocktails were a must and made for the perfect evening out.
A morning walk after coffee is a must, the property radiates with natural scenic beauty. And breakfast may have been our favorite meal, I haven’t been out for breakfast in months – such a treat!
Our afternoon activities including hiking to the waterfalls right off downtown Blowing Rock – so pretty!
And shopping of course in the quaint downtown Blowing Rock and Tanger Outlet Shops, which you can walk to on a path from Chetola to Tanger.

Our last evening included lounging by the firepit and a Family Style To-Go Dinner at our condo, highly recommend! Timberlake’s Restaurant is taking reservations now for Christmas Eve/Christmas dinners – dine-in or family style to-go, for registered guests only.
We loved every minute of our weekend at Chetola Resort! We will be back for the Festival of Lights (a holiday must, either day trip or overnight stay) and a winter weekend getaway from CLT!
