Smarties, we are beaming with pride over our teenagers who have the biggest heart. Smarty Teens Ava Perry, Izzy Plym, Brendan O’Neill, Leo O’Neill, Emmett O’Neill, Griffin Peterson and Drew Tenzer have been going to YMCA’s Camp Harrison summer camp and family camp for the last six years. They have grown up at camp together and it’s obvious that Camp Harrison holds a very special place in their hearts.
This summer, the teen team decided to pay it forward. They have been hosting lemonade stands and fundraisers all summer to raise $ to send underprivileged kids to camp through the YMCA’s Send-A-Kid-To-Camp program. Their goad is to raise funds to send one child to summer camp. And they need YOUR help!
Here they are in their own words:
This summer is our last year at Camp Harrison. We have been going to camp for at least 6 years now and have had so much fun, lots of cool experiences, and made a lot of lifetime friendships. Camp Harrison has had considerable impacts on our lives so we want to give a kid who can’t afford to go to camp the chance to experience such a great place.
We decided to help Camp Harrison send a kid to camp buy asking for donations for a “campership”. Each year, Camp Harrison raises money to have children in need be able to spend a week at camp for free. We would like to raise enough money to help send one kid to camp. Can you help us? No donation it too small. Every dollar helps!
