Smarties, Meet Maya Bean. AKA “The Sweet Life of Bean.” If you don’t already know her, you definitely should. Jot her name down, because this little Smarty is going to be famous! She is a true “Girl Boss” in the making and is taking Charlotte’s fashion scene by storm.
This 7 year-old mini-blogger has quite an impressive repertoire of interviews under her belt: Laura V. Poole, Capitol / Poole Shop, Twine + Twig Creators + Designers, Charlotte Ballet, lead dancer, Alessandra Ball James, Roy Wood Jr. of The Daily Show, Jessie Randall Loeffler, Stephanie Gottlieb, Perry Vaile, Up the Getup Creator, Natalie Steen, Paula Rallis, Gunner + Lux founder and designers… and this is only the beginning because she is just getting started!
Although Bean loves discussing anything about fashion, she also likes to talk about TV shows, pizza, and at times politics and the importance of speaking up when something is “not the right thing to do.” You might remember seeing Bean on CSP’s Instagram Story with a PSA video on the importance of voting! She is very passionate about the things she believes in! Her career goals at the moment are to be a “president-chef-teacher.” I do not have any doubt that whatever Bean puts her mind to, she will achieve!

Bean’s newest Achievement
Smarties, this 7-year-old fashionista’s resume continues to grow. Bean has just designed her own headband! She was asked by the designer, owner of Pop Girl Poms, Ronia Coates, to create a headband that spoke to what she loves the most —> that was simple for Bean, she loves candy and all things sweet!
Bean’s design goal was to make “little girls smile when they put it on the headband.” In her mind, she truly believes the headband “has magical powers and gives each person that wears it the idea that candy will make you happy and smile.” Hence, the name “The Sweet Life of Bean”. She also believes that “you end up with the taste of Skittles while wearing it.”
The headband is available for purchase here: https://popgirlpoms.com/shop?olsPage=products%2Fthe-sweet-life-of-bean-rainbow-pom
*A portion of Bean’s proceeds will go towards the Ronald McDonald House to help children’s families in the Charlotte area.
Pop Girls Poms
Pop Girls Poms is solely owned by a mom who loves giving little girls (and tweens and adults!) the option to create their own happiness through accessories. Each pom is handmade by Coates; each custom pom takes up to 2 weeks to design and create.
Bean, we are SO excited to see what comes next! Keep up the AMAZING work!
P.S. We can’t conclude this article without mentioning Bean’s social media account monitor, her beautiful mother, Brittny. We think you are Super Smarty Mom!
