Janine Medlin Fine Art

Janine Medlin is a local fine artist from South Charlotte and Team CSP has several of her paintings hanging in our homes – we absolutely adore her! Janine’s talent and vision will awaken your soul through her work. She invites the viewer into the common experience of the subject, and offers her interpretation of what lays beyond what is seen. Her texture and layers combine with color harmony and contrast to lead the eye around the painting to discover new areas of interest with each viewing.

What Janine hopes to convey is that something that wakens in our soul when we stand in awe in the midst of a stand of Aspens, or the vastness and serenity of a wide open stretch of land. What we see in nature is just the beginning; it is what comes through the trees or the land that makes our hearts come alive.

Janine works in oils on canvas or wood panel, with thick layers over thin, applied with brush and palette knife. The juxtaposition of lights & shadows or grays & rich color, along with varying texture are where she where she sees a story emerge.

“Hydrangea”

Julie Barnett is a local artist offering original works of all sizes in oil or acrylic. Her abstract works are colorful and instantly add joy to your home! Her landscapes include modern seascapes of coastal scenes or unique moments in nature.

Although a life-long creator, it wasn’t until Julie took an absence from her corporate business career that she embraced her desire to paint for a living. What started as creating original paintings for her home and close friends, has blossomed into a near full-time business as an artist. While raising her four boys, Julie spends most days working on commissioned pieces or paintings to be displayed in shops or galleries. This artist also believes in giving back and contributing to the local community. Julie donates a portion of the sale of each painting to various local charities.

Aren’t you curious how ladies like Smarty Mom Kara Dail, the mastermind behind Jacob Foster Designs, comes up with such beautiful creations? She says the idea will just pop in her head. Beau & Arrow Home is hand-lettered art and gifts by Lauren Jackson. When Lauren was pregnant with her son, Beau, she would spend the quiet evenings slowly learning the art of calligraphy as a way to relax and spend time with God. She lettered bible verses, hymns & song lyrics to give as gifts and to encourage others. After posting some of her calligraphy online and seeing an overwhelmingly positive response, Beau & Arrow was born. Each one of the songs, poems, quotes and scriptures has a story behind it. If you’re searching for the freshest seafood and oysters in Charlotte, you’ve found your place. Sea Level NC serves farm to fork oysters sourced from North Carolina and all over the country. They’ve also got daily seafood catches, and easy, delicious lunches like our lobster roll or fish tacos. Located in the base of the Hearst Tower on Fifth Street between Tryon and College, come by the oyster bar or out to the patio for lunch, dinner, or drinks! We went recently and the food was delicious. The seafood was awesome, the burgers were fabulous, and the desserts were amazing and we found it kid friendly too. (Always a plus!)
