Smarties, we’re excited for you to meet this week’s Smarty Mom – just in time for the heat of summer. Lynn Wieland is a local mompreneur who is watching out for all of us by cleaning up the products we use everyday such as deodorant. We’ll let her tell you how she got started and how you can get some of her amazing deodorant. A big thanks to Lynn for sharing her family with us!

Occupation: Stay-at-home mom
Tell us what inspired you to create B2B deodorant.
I am a stay at home mom who gets fed up with all the chemicals in consumer products. A friend of mine shared this natural recipe for deodorant that really works! I have tried countless natural alternatives that actually made me sweat more or had some nasty ingredient such as aluminum.
What are bad ingredients in OTC deodorants?
The main one is aluminum but here is a list of Secret Powder Fresh antiperspirant which all sound like a chemistry experiment:
Aluminum zirconium trichlorohydrex Gly 15% (anhydrous)
cyclopentasiloxane, stearyl alcohol, talc, mineral oil, dimethicone, hydrogenated castor oil, PPG-14 butyl ether, petrolatum, fragrance, behenyl alcohol
Are you looking to expand your line?
I would love to have a spot at a Farmer’s market where people bring their own packaging and I refill them with homemade products. I feel like the consumer product industry has convinced us that we need all these premade products (laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, hand sanitizer etc) A lot of these products can easily be made at home for a fraction of the cost and you can reuse the packaging
Where can a Smarty Mom buy B2B deodorant?
Online at www.b2bdeodorant.com
Atherton Farmer’s Market
Selwyn Farmer’s Market
Note: I am only at the farmer’s markets once every 4 weeks.
