Charlotte Latin School
Charlotte Latin is an accredited, independent, coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory, day school serving more than 1400 students in transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade on a 122-acre campus in southeast Charlotte. Founded in 1970, Latin’s mission is to encourage individual development and civility by inspiring students to learn, to serve others, and to pursue growth-promoting opportunities. Parents are welcome partners in their children’s school lives, and our School community embraces Latin’s mission, core values, and Honor Code.
Traditional by design yet innovative in implementation, Charlotte Latin promotes a strong sense of community, a challenging yet nurturing environment, and a commitment to academic excellence. Latin is a school that values teaching and celebrates learning, which is realized in 100 percent of graduates being accepted to college, including some of the nation’s most prestigious institutions of higher learning.
Students are presented with many opportunities to explore and develop their interests, including leadership development and co-curricular options and a TK–12 community service program that fosters a lifelong commitment to service through age-appropriate activities. Students also are encouraged to explore their world and are supported in this endeavor through the CLS Global Studies and Study Abroad Programs.

– STEAM: Students Create and Innovate
11:30 a.m. (a box lunch will be served)
Enjoy a box lunch as members of Latin’s engineering, technology, and visual arts faculties discuss the School’s commitment to providing experiential learning opportunities for our students. See firsthand how Latin’s multidisciplinary STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) curriculum teaches students to be critical thinkers as they collaborate to create, design and build innovative products and artworks.
Long before educators tagged the terms “STEM” and “STEAM,” Latin was a national leader in teaching engineering to prep school students as a component of our curriculum, which is traditional by design yet innovative in implementation.
Target Audience: Prospective grade 6-12 students and parents of prospective kindergarten – grade 12 students
Please note that admissions applications are due no later than January 15, 2016.

Trinity Episcopal School
Trinity Episcopal School is the only K-8 independent school in Uptown Charlotte. Their passionate and innovative faculty are committed to creating scholars by redefining academic rigor using a workshop approach, inspiring a responsibility for students’ own learning, and promoting their curiosity in the classroom and the world around them. As an urban school, Trinity has the distinct advantage of an extended campus that includes Center City destinations such as ImaginOn, Discovery Place, and the Mint Museum.
The Trinity school community nurtures spirituality through the reason, acceptance, and service found within the Episcopal tradition. Trinity embraces the richness of diversity by encouraging students to be socially-conscious and civically-engaged ambassadors of grace, honor and respect in the world. They instill honor through high expectations for responsibility, respect, kindness and integrity, all found in the Trinity Honor Code.
