Collinswood Language Academy, a Spanish language immersion CMS magnet school, has announced its open house dates for families interested in enrolling for the 2016-2017 school year. The first open house will be at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 18. The school will also host three other sessions for prospective families: on Dec. 9 at 10 a.m. and on Jan. 13 at noon and 6:30 p.m.
Collinswood is a K-8 school located at 4000 Applegate Road (off Scaleybark Road near Park Road Shopping Center). Students receive instruction in both English and Spanish and are fully fluent by the time they graduate. In 2014, Magnet Schools of America selected Collinswood as one of the top five magnet schools in the country. The school’s test scores are some of the highest in CMS, and it is also one of few schools that has come close to closing the achievement gap among racial and socio-economical groups.
