Camp Highlander is proud to partner with Dads for their annual Father-Son Weekend, coming up on May 16-18, 2014. Located in Mills River, NC, near Asheville, Camp Highlander provides a weekend of adventure, excitement and growth for Dads and their sons, ages 5-16.
The relationship between a father and a son is like no other. We all know that Dads protect and provide for their families, and teach their sons the life skills necessary to grow into honorable men. But life gets so busy, it’s sometimes hard to invest time into that vital relationship.
Over the course of 3 days and 2 nights, Dads and sons will love great activities like riflery, archery, canoeing, zipline and climbing, but most of all will make unforgettable memories that last a lifetime. The weekend features some camp traditions like the Wacky-Tacky Tie Contest, the Father vs. Son Bombardment tournament, a private Campfire Chat between dads and their sons and a “Manfood Feast.” Without even realizing it, Dads and sons will leave with a veritable toolbox of communication skills that will boost their relationship the whole year through.

Just got back camping as a family. We did so much fun stuff, but when my husband asked what my son’s favorite part was he answered, “Fishing with you, Daddy!” Tears!!!
My husband and son love to fish together.
Hiking or frisbee golf would probably be their favorite!
My son and I both love outdoors…we go to white water oftn as well as golf when there is time. Would be great for both of us to have a whole weekend where we hang out just the two of us.
I will love to get this! So my husband can do this camp with his son and enjoy the week and have fun!!

They would love to fish and just spend one on one time together.
My son and my dad love to tinker around the house. He has really stepped in and shown my son how to till and plant a garden, how to repair lawncare tools, how to rebuild a carberator, and how to build a shed. A camping activity would be AWESOME for them to experience together.

They really have never done anything like this so I’m not sure what they will like best but it sounds like an amazing experience…maybe the archery–to see who can get the bull’s eye.
