Halloween is rapidly approaching! This is our first Halloween with our baby and we’re in the process of figuring out what she will be. We don’t have plans to go trick or treating this year, but look forward to dishing out the sugary treats to other kids in the neighborhood, as well as participating in our neighborhood Halloween parade and an office party. Much like other parents, I’m not inclined to spend bucko bucks on something she’ll really one wear less than a handful of times. I’ve been scouring the internet, and of course, Pinterest for ideas. Here are a few options that I came across that can be done for a minimal spend, but also go a little above and beyond the costumes we see every year.
It’s no secret that I love the 80s, I mean they were like, totally rad. Grab some tights and leg warmers, throw on a long-sleeve onesie over the tights, add some kind of headband and wrist bands and she’s set to work it out! I’m challenging myself to find some shiny tights though to achieve a true 80s look.
I saw this on Pinterest and major kudos to this Smarty Mom! She used two baby bottles to replicate the breathing tank and the pacifier is the perfect mask! I love this super clever costume and feel like it’s something that’s totally doable.
Last, but certainly not least, tapping into my inner love of the 80s again, I thought it would be fun to dress our baby in a black onesie, and using fabric markers draw a PacMan on it and add a red bow in her hair. Tada – she’s now Mrs. PacMan. I thought about wearing all black and using masking tape, put rows of white dots on me with the occasional felt PacMan ghost to mimic the PacMan board.

I need that 80’s get-up for a themed-party in November – I think I just may bust out the shiny tights and leg warmers!
