Smarty Alert – Asana Activewear Closing

Smarties, this alert just breaks my heart to deliver. One of our Smarty faves, Asana Activewear located in Morrison Shopping Center, is closing its doors. Gary Schwake, owner, poured his heart and soul into this business and into the active Charlotte community. But in the end, this endless recession got the best, or I’d like to say the worst, of Asana. So everything must go.

All apparel and gear is 50% – 80% off. I was in the store this morning and found so many good deals – think Ion activewear, Skirt running skirts, Moving Comfort bras (these are the bomb for mamas with bigger chests:-), and so much more. But don’t hesitate, stuff is flying off the shelves. Asana will only be here for 2-3 more weeks, until inventory is depleted. Uggh, now where am I going to find more of my favorite fake workout carpool digs, the Margarita pants?!

While I was in the store, I noticed a message that tugged at my heart knowing that when you go out on a limb and start your own business, your entire family is a part of it. Read this note scribbled on the dry erase board from daughter to daddy. After you wipe away your tears, go in there and load up one last time to support this Smarty family!

For those of you interested in buying an incredible brand (and setting up shop in a bigger market or Charlotte, who knows!), they are selling the intellectual property of Asana … the brand, websites (both local and e-commerce) and the 5,000-person customer list. The structure of the sale will enable the buyer to re-open the store in any location they choose. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please contact Gary.
