We’re excited to introduce our latest sponsor, Jami Masters School of Dance (JMSD). Jami Masters has been teaching ballerinas in Charlotte for 20 years now! Classes start at age 2 through adults and include ballet, pointe, lyrical, modern, jazz, tap, pilates and creative movement and tumbling classes for tiny tots. The instructors at JMSD are well-traveled and have impressive backgrounds.
Ansley, my 7-year-old, enrolled in a ballet/tap/jazz combo class last year and loved every minute of it. Now Ansley’s middle name is “Grace” but she is anything but graceful (takes after her mama:-). She did not feel the least bit intimidated and flourished at her own pace. Isabel will take her first JMSD class this fall and she is counting down the days!
At the heart of the philosophy of JMSD is the concept of instilling the love of dance. They encourage each child to be the best he/she can be and they do this in a loving, caring, nurturing and non-competitive environment. At JMSD, the goal is to aid in the development of each child’s personality, spirit of cooperation, coordination, and ability. Through carefully supervised dance training, students gain confidence and charm, while developing stronger, healthier bodies. It doesn’t matter who will or will not become a professional dancer. What does matter is that the children in this program will be better at whatever they choose to do in life because of this incredible experience.
Registration is now for the 2008-09 dance year. Fall classes start on Tue, 9/2 so click here for a complete list. I would highly recommend going to the fittings sale on Wed 8/28 and Thu 8/29 from 9a-7p. They have an extensive selection of dancewear and by far, the cutest leotards in town!

Jami Masters also does ballerina birthday parties and I just held one there for my daughter that turned 4. It was wonderful and the dancers there were really good with the girls. It’s a great way to introduce the little ones to the world of ballet, they get a feel for what a dance class is like and actually learn a bit about the basic dance moves.
My daughter Sophie is going to take her first class at Jami Masters this fall! She is so excited 🙂
