In addition to the legacy Jennifer Bunich left with Charlotte Smarty Pants, she also made her mark on the advertising community. As many of you know, Jen B. worked at a marketing communications agency. Her job as account supervisor was to direct client programs and bring together marketing strategy, creative development and plan execution. Those who work there say she did it flawlessly and that her work was outstanding. On Thursday, March 6, at the Charlotte ADDY Awards – the city’s biggest competition for creative work – the Charlotte community must have agreed. Jen B.’s employer Wray Ward won Best of Show for a poster campaign that Jen directed for her client Glen Raven and the launch of its Sunbrella Contract fabric. An ADDY Best of Show is a high honor, recognizing one piece of work as the best of the best among the 135 campaigns, television spots and advertisements receiving recognition that night. In accepting the honor at the ceremony, Wray Ward Chief Creative Officer Jennifer Appleby dedicated the award to Jen. She says, “This is an especially meaningful award for us (and) it is a fitting tribute to the creativity, dedication and passion that Jen brought to her job and our workplace.” Thanks to Jen B’s careful guidance, that one campaign garnered a total of 11 ADDY Awards, and her name is lovingly attached to each. She also was part of the agency’s team that won a Silver ADDY Award for a radio spot Wray Ward created for the Humane Society of Charlotte. Just like Jen B., to shine, even now.
