The Fletcher School – Where Performance Meets Potential
For over 30 years, The Fletcher School has created bright futures for students with specific learning disabilities and/or attention deficit disorders. We are an independent, K-12 school offering a college-preparatory curriculum and preparing students to mainstream into elementary, secondary, and post-secondary academic environments. Our bright, talented, and often gifted students learn in small, structured classes with a 6:1 student-to-teacher ratio.
Our comprehensive program is designed to build the academic, social, and emotional competence of our students. Utilizing the Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching, instruction is sequential, cumulative, and repetitious in order for students to achieve mastery. Individual and prescriptive plans of instruction are developed for each student. Multisensory learning techniques are employed and school-issued, 1:1 Apple® devices support 21st century learning and enhance students’ organizational skills.
Applicants are considered for admission based on documentation of average or above-average intelligence, difficulty in one or more academic areas or learning processes, and an LD and/or ADHD diagnosis. Evidence that learning disabilities are not the result of primary emotional or behavioral problems is required.

Trinity Episcopal School is the only K-8 independent school in Uptown Charlotte. Their passionate and innovative faculty are committed to creating scholars by redefining academic rigor using a workshop approach, inspiring a responsibility for students’ own learning, and promoting their curiosity in the classroom and the world around them. As an urban school, Trinity has the distinct advantage of an extended campus that includes Center City destinations such as ImaginOn, Discovery Place, and the Mint Museum.
The Trinity school community nurtures spirituality through the reason, acceptance, and service found within the Episcopal tradition. Trinity embraces the richness of diversity by encouraging students to be socially-conscious and civically-engaged ambassadors of grace, honor and respect in the world. They instill honor through high expectations for responsibility, respect, kindness and integrity, all found in the Trinity Honor Code.
The powerful combination of creating scholars, nurturing spirituality and embracing diversity enables us to inspire, develop and send forth the future leaders of tomorrow.
Join us for a campus tour of our classrooms, gardens and community spaces and see our classrooms in action. Tours are given in small groups and last approximately one hour.
