Wow, after reading Jen P’s chaotic morning I feel lucky I got a full night of sleep on Christmas Eve! With a 2-year-old it was a little easier (left photo is Christmas Eve, right photo is Christmas morning), she only partially understood what was going on and even though she is in a toddler bed she does not realize she can get out with me getting her (I love that!). So, we rolled out of bed at 8am! Claire first took inventory of the cookies and carrots for Santa & the reindeer. As she says, they “ate a yiddle bit”.
Santa presents were first… Play-Doh set, match box cars (the only thing she consistently asked for), and a Thomas train (we already have some generic tracks). One of the biggest hits of Christmas was Christmas Eve, a Dora backpack from great-aunt-Jeanne. As well as too many other wonderful gifts from family (basketball goal, play piano, etc.)
After Santa gifts and breakfast we headed over to my parents house where other family members were also visiting. Claire dug deep into her energy reserves and talked and ran non-stop for 12 straight hours. Even for her 2-hour “nap” she never slept, she talked. It was really cute except for one “Level 5” meltdown over a Christmas cookie. I guess I cannot blame her, they were good cookies.
Hope your Christmas was happy and bright, please tell us about it below. Favorite gift of your children? Funny story? We’d love to hear it.
