Need for Speed! Concord Mills will host the USAC 25 Youth Racers on property this weekend, with races this Friday, October 6 through Sunday, October 8. Over 100 cars are expected as families from 15 states come to experience the atmosphere of the NASCAR event at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Many of the young talent today in NASCAR racing took their first laps in a Quarter-Midget, including Jeff Gordon, Ryan Newman, Joey Logano and Brad Keselowski. Quarter-Midget cars are a quarter of the size of a full size open-wheel midget car and are generally powered by either Honda or Briggs and Stratton 3-5 hp engines. These are similar to the engine on your lawn mower, but make no mistake, there is more than enough power to provide some of the most competitive side by side youth racing anywhere.
