We’re all looking for ways to stay connected even when being together isn’t possible. Here are three fun ways to send a Valentine – even from afar – to let someone know that you’re thinking of them and to help you feel closer together.
WATERCOLOR HEART CARD:
Watercoloring is a simple way to paint with your kiddos and super forgiving! And the best part – it’s easy to clean!
Using watercolor paper, trim and fold your paper in half to create a card in the desired size. Then, grab your watercolor paints and get started! Choose simple, single color shapes if you’re a newer to watercoloring or experiment with shading if you’re more advanced.
Protip: Use a clean wet brush to draw a heart onto the paper before applying paint. Then, dip your brush into your color of choice and go back over the heart on your paper. Keep in mind, a little paint goes a long way.
In either case, have fun with it. Embrace the process and let your kiddo get creative – even if that means they would rather just paint all over the paper. In that case, once the paint dries, cut your paper into a heart shape, pop it into an envelope and send!
CREATE A COLLABORATIVE DRAWING USING A SHARED NOTE:
Using the notes app on your phone, select the markup tool (it’s a circle icon with a marker inside) and create a drawing.
Use your finger or a stylus to start the drawing and share it with a loved one to add to the picture! Keep sharing it back and forth until you decide it’s finished! (to share a note, simply click the three dots at the top of a note and share via messages)
This is a easy, fun (and free!) way to draw together – even from afar.
