VERITAS Community School incorporates movement breaks, whole food, and peace lessons into the school day to fuel academic achievement.
VERITAS Community School, one of Charlotte’s newest charter schools, will open its doors on August 24, 2015 at 4301 Shamrock Drive to serve 200 students in grades K through 3. VERITAS will ultimately grow to serve 300 students in grades k through 5. Their innovative school model focuses on health and wellness as a means to academic achievement. It is unlike any other school in Charlotte and follows a successful model from their partner school in Chicago, Namaste Charter School.
VERITAS is currently accepting applications until March 8th. They will hold an Open House at their school home to give families a chance to see where students will be empowered and engaged this coming fall. They will set up a classroom to demonstrate how movement will be integrated into the school day and will offer a presentation and a time for Q & A. Children are welcome too. Please bring them, so they can walk the halls of their new school, try out the “Trust Chair,” and meet their amazing new school leader, Katy Ridnouer.
